A Message From the FounderDear Sisters, The Ladies Retreat in the Smokies is over for this year and some of you have told me that it was the best yet! I know many of you received help in the meeting. God was there in a special way. I've been getting emails since I've been home letting me know how you enjoyed it, and I appreciate that. It's always good to know the results of your labor. Our featured missionaries this year were Bro. and Sis. David Lloyd in Haiti and Sis. Ruth Lowe of Shortt Gap, Virginia. Bro. Lloyd is trying to get 30 homes built for his people to live in after the earthquake there in January. Sis. Ruth Lowe has a Bible study with over 400 people that she takes care of and a women's jail ministry. Each of them received $500.00 and they were very thankful. Again, lots of gifts were given to the ladies who attended. The winner of the MP3 player for the Conference Call was Sis. Ramona Williams. We also had a Netbook computer to give away and the winner of that was Sis. Susan Tidwell. Then, the $100.00 bills were popular! Also, churches and individuals brought so many nice things to give out you just wouldn't believe! We don't want to take anything away from the buffet lunch we had either! We were served steak and gravy and turkey and dressing and all the fixings. Our dessert was out of this world---apple dumpling! If you didn't get to come to the Retreat this year, start making plans to come next year. We'll be posting the dates as soon as we get them firmed up. I'd like to hear from you this summer. Holler at me!!! Sis. Connie |
